How to Remove Wheels From a Samsonite Luggage
If you have traveled a bit, you know how luggage can take a beating from the handling it receives. Samsonsite makes a strong brand of luggage, one well known to the travel industry. But over time, even a good piece of luggage needs to be repaired or replaced. You may have a piece of luggage that no longer serves your travel needs but that you may want to keep for storage use. Sometimes the bag can tear, or the wheels wear out and get wobbly. There are a few steps in order to take the wheels off a Samsonite suitcase.
Lay out the suitcase on a flat surface. Look on the bottom of the suitcase where the wheels are located. Check the screws or bolts holding the wheel plate attached to the suitcase to see if you need a drill, screwdriver or wrench to remove them. Once that is done, slowly start to remove the screws or bolts.
Open the suitcase and look inside where the caster plates are attached to the suitcase. Use the grommet tool to remove the grommets attached to the caster plate on the suitcase. You may need a hammer to help you pry up the grommets. Lightly tap the grommet tool till each grommet is removed.
Pull the wheels from the suitcase and slowly remove the caster plate on the suitcase. Take the bolts or screws and place them aside. The caster plate should now pop off the suitcase. If it is stuck, use the flat end of a screwdriver and a hammer to tap the caster plate from the suitcase.
